There are endless adventures in the city that does not sleep. With a variety of transportation options, getting around is easy; a quick 2.5-hour flight from Florida gets you right into the action. You can save money by taking the LIRR and Subway from the airport into Manhattan, or opt for the convenience of an Uber to reach your hotel directly, at a higher cost. It is helpful to stay at hotels that offer luggage storage, allowing you to explore while waiting for check-in. My favorite way to tour the city has been wandering throughout the diverse neighborhoods. Starting in SoHo you can enjoy upscale shops, and stunning French-influenced architecture. Walking a few blocks to the east you enter into the East Villages for a more vintage and grungy vibe full of hip restaurants, boutiques, and a laid back scene. Another 20 minute walk you run into Little Italy, and an obvious Chinatown which is densely populated. The streets lined with souvenir shops, dumplings, and markets selling everything from dried fish, herbs and spices. Continue your walk another 20 minutes south/west entering into the financial district with glistening sky-scrappers and young professionals filling the bustling streets. Take a 10-15 minute subway ride north to Chelsea to walk the 1.45mile High Line, the elevated park built atop former railroad tracks. The old railroad tracks end at Hudson Yards for shopping, dining, and you can visit The Edge for a 360 view of the city 100 stories high from the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. Midtown Manhattan, just a short walk or subway ride away, boasts iconic sights like Times Square, the Museum of Modern Art, and Architectural wonders such as the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building. Finally, another 20 minute walk north and you will find yourself in another area of the city... lost in the song of birds amongst the American Elms hidden from urban buzz in the 843 acres of Central Park. Each neighborhood invites you with its unique culture and architecture, making it hard to stop exploring- so wear your walking shoes and enjoy the diverse culinary delights around every corner!
